How we use AI at Pobble

How Pobble uses AI to support teachers and spark students’ writing, not to replace professional judgement

Pobble is created and run by a small team of experienced teachers. Every writing prompt, lesson and activity is planned, written and reviewed by humans with real classroom experience.

Writing prompts, lessons, activities and images

Our teaching content is led by teachers. We sometimes use AI to help generate images and to support parts of the prompt creation process, for example, brainstorming ideas or producing a first draft. Every prompt, lesson and activity is then planned, written or edited, and quality-checked by experienced teachers before it appears on Pobble.

AI also helps us create weird and wonderful scenes that are impossible to photograph, for example, a hippo parachuting or a child chatting with a dragon. Teachers select and check every image for age appropriateness, safety and classroom use. The aim is simple: to spark students’ imagination and make writing exciting.

Moderation and assessment

At Pobble, we believe that, whatever tools you have used to support your assessment judgements, it is critical that moderation discussions are human-led. Our moderation tool and professional development opportunities are designed to support teachers and leaders to deliver effective, and most importantly, human-led moderation. While AI can analyse, compare and predict with remarkable speed and accuracy, it cannot truly understand the child, their journey, effort and growth, and therefore it should never have the final say in assessment.
