What if my child doesn’t know what to write?

Start with a conversation. Look at a Pobble Home picture together and try asking:

  • What do you notice?
  • What might have happened just before this?
  • What could happen next?

Give your child time to answer and follow their ideas. The questions alongside each prompt can help you get the conversation started too.

Keep the writing small at first. A single sentence or a caption is a perfectly good beginning. You can also try the easier version of the prompt or come back another day if they’re tired or frustrated.
